BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar
Hyderabad: Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has dared BRS leaders for an open dabate on the funds spent on BCs in the last ten years.
Opposition Members raised a question in the Legislative Council on the construction of community buildings. Responding to the subject, the Minister made several key comments.
He clarified that the BRS government had allocated Rs8,000 crore to BCs during its ten-year rule, but the funds were released only Rs2,000 crore.
Apart from this, not a single rupee was spent on BC schemes or for the welfare of BCs, he pointed out.
Ponnam Prabhakar challenged the opposition parties that anyone who comes to the House is ready to discuss the subject. He also clarified that the State government is committed to implement the BC Declaration, announced by the Congress party during the Assembly elections at Kamareddy, and the government will definitely construct 42 sanctioned community buildings.
The Minister stated that the State government is seriously working for the development of BCs and as part of its endeavour, a caste census is being conducted aimed at giving reservations accordingly.
